The University of Linnaeus is a state university in Småland, the southern province of Sweden. It consists of two buildings located in the cities of Vaxjo and Kalmar. The University was established in 2010, after the merger of the University in Vaxjo and the College in Kalmar and is named after Karl Linnaeus.
The University of Vaxjo was founded in 1967. In 1977, it was called a college, and in 1999 it regained its status as a university.
The College in Kalmar was founded in 1997.
